    About this artwork:

A career in fashion design that traversed many years was the original inspiration for this triptych.  Classic in content and hue the work has evolved through several incarnations, parallel careers, ...one in fashion, the other in the arts.

The artwork was included in Ēvolō (to soar) and subsequent exhibitions.

The Ēvolō (in Trutina) exhibition took place at the Galerie de la Ville, Dollard Centre for the Arts, June 1st to 29th, 2014.

    From the exhibition...

My project is about transformation and the unseen support that fosters it, the place of beginning, the evolutionary steps along the way, and ultimately, the unknown:  Legend of the creation, Narrative of changes, waiting and dress rehearsals, and Vision of the arrival.

"The 3 GRACES" was a key work in the Legend of the creation series of oil paintings, each depicting a garment on a mannequin, dynamic in the forms & volume, minimally tinted with colour, almost neutral.  The mannequin presents as a support in place of a figure, imagined, understood. We appreciate what is created but seldom consider what supported the creation in the first place, because oftentimes it is invisible.  The viewer’s focus is eventually drawn to the supporting object while observing and reflecting on these paintings.
